The International Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is the primary quality interface between Raytheon and the external supply base. The SQE provides both communication of requirements and performance feedback to the supplier as well as being a conduit for Quality information across other Raytheon teams.  This role leads and supports the execution of Supplier Assessments, First Article Inspection verification, Source Inspection, problem resolution, and continuous improvement activities at suppliers.  You will be a key player in the management of Supplier performance and development and represent Raytheon’s Vision, Values, Strategy and Goals in the international supply base.

This position is a two-year international assignment in the surrounding area of Medias, Romania and primarily responsible for managing and developing in-country subcontractors, with potential for extension. This position is an MOU with additional compensation emoluments.

What You Will Do

  • Interpret quality requirements and assist suppliers in the development of robust processes 
  • Ensure flow down of requirements internally and to sub-tier suppliers
  • Assess/develop supplier’s quality capabilities throughout the product life cycle
  • Identify and correct systemic performance issues
  • Implement effective Root Cause Corrective Action
  • Conduct collaborative communication with supplier, cross business teams and customer
  • Deploy effective Supplier Quality Management techniques
  • Support supplier maintenance efforts such as recurring audits, special process upkeep, and certification maintenance.
  • Work as the liaison between the Program and Subcontractor
  • Ensuring Subcontract Data Requirements List (SDRL) deliverables are met
  • Ability to work in a different country and understand culture requirements and communicate clearly to Foreign Nationals.
  • This position is a hybrid role, with expectation to be onsite at supplier. The selected applicant will work with the hiring manager to set schedule.

Qualifications You Must Have  

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s and a minimum of 8+ years prior relevant experience, or an Advance Degree in a related field and a minimum of 6+ years’ experience
  • Experience with Supplier Quality Management working with suppliers to understand and develop product to Raytheon and customer requirements
  • Experience with commercial and aerospace / defense regulations and/or standards of a commercial equivalent with any of the following:  AS9100, AS9102, ISO-9000, ISO-9001, AS9145
  • Experience with Military/Defense or Aerospace Industry specifications/standards
  • Effective written/verbal Communications Skills
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Proven success in building and maintaining relationships with customers or partners (both internal and external to Raytheon)
  • Experience in DoD product and process oversight including requirements, build, integration, test and delivery
  • Experience with Export/Import Compliance procedures and regulations
  • Diverse experience with different product technologies (electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, energetics, CCAs)
  • Knowledge of Root Cause Corrective Action processes
  • Experience with hardware inspection techniques
  • Familiarity creating and/or verifying First Article Inspection Reports in accordance with AS9102
  • International Experience, preferably in aerospace or defense industries
  • Experience working with Government Agencies in a production floor environment (such as DCMA, MDA, etc.)
  • Practical knowledge of Aerospace or commercial equivalent Preventative tools – APQP, PPAP, SPC, FMEA, etc.
