Your Role:

We are building a fabulous engineering culture here, and are committed to hiring the very best. In light of this, we are adding a Senior Director-level role to our Engineering team.  The Senior Director of Quality Assurance & Release Management will define strategies and create processes that scale across our platforms and support Tenable’s continued growth as the leader in Cyber Exposure Management. In this role, you will work closely with Product and Engineering leaders to ensure quality in all aspects of delivery – from design through release. 

Your Opportunity:

• Manage a QA function that is globally embedded into all of our Software Development teams

• Manage the software product release process, working closely with Product Management and Engineering leaders

  • Lead a great team of QA Engineers and Analysts, providing vision and strategic leadership for the function while mentoring team members and providing clear job growth goals

  • Represent the overall product & system quality metrics and KPIs to stakeholders

  • Own and drive the overall quality process and strategy as an engineering leader

  • Role model of continuous learning and continuous improvement throughout the organization in repeatable and forecastable release management with strong quality management process

  • Foster innovation within the team, and join others in carving out a new place for Quality Assurance within Tenable

What You’ll Need:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field

• Proven experience (8+ years) in a senior leadership role in Software Quality Assurance within a SaaS or platform company; with at least 2 years as a Director

• Extensive knowledge of software development principles, practices, and methodologies, with a track record of successfully implementing and managing QA programs

• A strong understanding of QA methodologies, processes, and best practices to include deep knowledge of both manual and automated testing techniques

• Extensive experience with performance, security, API and web services testing

• Experience integrating testing workflows into CI/CD pipelines 

• Experience of hiring and managing budgets against resource allocation and velocity 

• Proven track record managing agile projects, delivering on time and under budget
