Have you ever wondered what it would be like to create your own video game and bring it to life? As a Senior Principal Virtualization Engineer within the Simulation, Training, and Solutions (STS) business area you will help develop and build simulators and training systems for both military and commercial customers.  This role will give you an opportunity to work with cutting edge technology and bringing real world applications and tools to life that help support our warfighters.  Devices range in complexity from desktop training all the way up to high fidelity weapon system and full-flight training systems including full visual, motion, and simulator interoperability.

The Senior Principal Virtualization Engineer will be responsible for spearheading our virtualization initiatives, leveraging advanced technologies to design, implement, and manage virtualized environments. This role will play a pivotal part in shaping our infrastructure strategy, driving innovation, and maximizing the value of our IT investments.

What you will do:

  • Leading the design and implementation of virtualization solutions tailored to our organization's needs and objectives.

  • Industry Liaison, manage vendor relationships, assist with negotiate contracts with third party virtualization hardware and software providers.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate virtualization technologies into existing systems and workflows.

  • Providing technical expertise and guidance on virtualization best practices, performance optimization, and security.

  • Developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation, standards, and policies related to virtualization infrastructure.

  • Evaluating emerging technologies and trends in virtualization to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.

  • Serving as a subject matter expert and mentor to team members, fostering knowledge sharing and professional development.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. ACTIVE Secret Security Clearance or HIGHER REQUIRED

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

  • Experience in bidding, executing and delivering large and complex systems development programs and products

  • Experience in the engineering design and development of complex products involving multi-discipline engineering including software, hardware and systems

  • Experience with engineering development in an Agile and DEVSECOPS environment.

  • Experience in training and configuration management.

  • Experienced in systems engineering fundamentals
