What you will do

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cobol Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Cobol Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining

high-quality software solutions using Cobol/Mainframe.

Responsibilities

• Resolve incidents, analyze problems, and implement small requests for change by following the development phases (coding, unit test) in consistency with the assets
• Provide quality user assistance
• Answer service requests (reporting, recurrent tasks)
• Meet the objectives related to its application (availability time, incidents time resolutions)
• Creating high-performance, mission-critical applications
• Ensure the necessary data transfer between applications
• Update documents after each change
• Create test plans and test scenarios
• Create documentation and user guides for new applications
• Propose and implement actions to simplify applications, optimize processes, and automate tasks
• Researching new technologies and software development trends
• Follow and enforce norms and standards, security rules
• Participate in meetings with the client

Requirements and technical skills

• Graduate of technical profile faculty
• Experience in COBOL programming (minimum 6 years)
• Experience with Mainframe, TSO, JCL, DB2, Dfsort/Icetool, SDSF, Debug Tools
• Experience in Application Support
• Synthesis Capacity
• Customer Orientation
• Initiative Capacity
• Continuous Learner
• Mandatory English

Would be considered a plus:

• Work experience with REXX, Python, SPUFI
• Exposure to Mainframe DevOps (CA7, CA Deliver, CA View, File Transfer setups, Users Management)
• API integration with Mainframe apps
• Web services implementation on Mainframe
• Participation in Mainframe Migration/Transformation projects
• Business Knowledge on: Card Payments and/or Transactions Processing, Pension Funds, Investments
• Experience as a Tech Trainer at past assignments
