What you need to know about the role :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director to join our team as SMB Platform Leader. In this role, you will be responsible for deeply understanding the needs of SMB merchants and the integrated 3rd party commerce platforms they use in conjunction with PayPal. In this role, you will lead growth efforts and be responsible for identifying opportunities to drive user acquisition, activation, retention, and monetization that can accelerate the growth of our platform. As a senior member of the team, you will have the opportunity to shape the direction of our business strategy and drive impact across the organization.

PayPal is one of the largest fintech processing over 1.5 T in payment volume across 160+ countries. PayPal started its journey by serving small businesses and consumers to seamlessly exchange money. Today we are one of the largest payments platforms serving the needs of SMBs to accept payments across the globe. We have recently launched a new product to serve the holistic needs of SMBs to accept payments and make payments. We have launched this product in 40+ markets and over the coming years want to grow this platform to serve the needs of SMBs and platforms globally 

Job Description:

Your way to impact:

  • Deeply interrogate and monitor performance through the user journey, inclusive of partner platforms and their integrations, to develop and execute comprehensive growth strategies that use the levers of product, pricing, marketing, sales, support and more to drive user acquisition, activation, retention, and revenue growth.  

  • Analyze user behavior, market trends, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities and inform strategic decisions.  

  • Lead cross-functional teams to drive and deliver growth initiatives that optimize for the holistic customer experience inclusive of system design and process improvement.  

Your day-to-day:

  • Collaborate closely with product, marketing, partnerships, sales, support, finance, and regional counterparts to prioritize and execute on the introduction and adoption of new offerings, cross sell and upsell into the user base, and enable optimizations.  

  • Understand the end to end customer journey, use qualitive and data-driven insights to segment, measure, and optimize the performance of growth initiatives.   

  • Leverage growth hacking tactics, A/B testing, cohort analysis, and other techniques to rapidly experiment, iterate, and scale.  

  • Monitor key metrics and KPIs to track progress against growth goals and provide regular reporting to senior leadership.  

  • Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging trends, and new technologies related to product growth and user acquisition.  

What do you need to bring ?:

  • 15 years of experience in product management, growth marketing, or related roles, with a proven track record of driving user growth and engagement.  

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency leveraging to inform decision-making and execution plans.  

  • Experience with and understanding of e-commerce platforms and ecosystems, integrated and embedded payment offerings, and the needs of small business merchants.   

  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive initiatives from concept to execution.  

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.  

  • Customer-focused mindset with a passion for innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement.  

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment with a focus on delivering results.  

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
