Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center is hiring a Flexi/PRN Registered Nurse (RN) for the Recovery Room!

~Flexi/PRN & Day shift~

Direct Care Registered Nurse II - Recovery Room

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center - Woodbridge, VA

This position will help the team for call outs, help with call shifts, and you would be able to pick up entire shifts based on your availability and the team's needs.

Call during Monday to Friday is from 10 pm to 7 amSaturday & Sunday is 7 am to 7 pm, and 7 pm to 7am

Flexi/PRN Tiers & Commitments:

Tier I - $45.00/hr

• Floats as required
• Shift rotation to meet the needs of the unit
• 1 Summer/1 Winter/1 Floating holiday or as determined by the unit
• 3 weekend shifts per 6 week schedule 
• 60 minimum hours per 6 week schedule per the needs of the hiring unit
• 2 years clinical experience
• Attend 25% of monthly unit meetings or as determined by the unit

OR

Tier II - $52.00/hr

• Floats as required
• Shift rotation to meet the needs of the unit
• 2 Summer/2 Winter/1 Floating holiday or as determined by the unit
• 6 weekend shifts per 6 week schedule
• 108 minimum hours per 6 week schedule per the needs of the hiring unit
• 2 years clinical experience
• Attend 50% of monthly unit meetings or as determined by the unit

Overview

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

BSN or MSN preferred. Meets and maintains any requirements defined by specific specialty; Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire; Emergency Care - ACLS & PALS or ENPC within 1 year of hire; Oncology Care ONS/ONCC or Sentara approved course Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire. Women's Care - Perinatal departments; NRP within 6 months of hire. Inpatient Pediatrics. PALS within 6 months of hire. All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.

Education

• RN-Associate's Degree OR
• RN-Bachelor's Degree OR
• RN-Diploma OR
• RN-Master's Degree OR
• RN-Doctorate Degree

Certification/Licensure

• Registered Nurse (RN) License - Compact/Multi-State License OR
• Registered Nurse (RN) License - Single State – Virginia
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA)

Experience

• 2 years of PACU nursing experience (preferred)
