Fleet Mechanic

Description

Piscataqua Landscaping & Tree Service is seeking an experienced Mechanic for a full-time, year round position located in our lakes region! Successful candidates should have a minimum of 5 years working in as a Mechanic, with experience repairing small engines, trucks and a variety of equipment.

Requirements

• Repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, and production machines and equipment, using hand tools, power tools, and precision-measuring and testing instruments
• Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble
• General understanding of small gas engine repairs
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools
• Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
• Starts devices to test their performance
• May set up and operate drill press, grinder, welders and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts
• Follow all safety rules and guidelines; such as Lock Out/Tag Out and PPE
• Repair electrical equipment
• May initiate purchase order for parts and machines
• Records all truck services in company software
• Additional duties as assigned, including involvement in our snow division
