Our Organization and Mission: The Office represents the State of Florida in state and federal civil and criminal courts, from trial courts to the Supreme Court of the United States.
Position Summary: This position is within the Human Resources Department in the Office of The Attorney General in Tallahassee.
The incumbent in this position is considered to have regulatory responsibilities and is subject to the provisions of Chapter 60L-36, Florida Administrative Code.
This position meets the Selected Exempt Service (SES) criteria for a Confidential Employee as outlined in Section 447.203(5), F.S., and as referenced in Section 110.205(2)(W), F.S.
The incumbent in this position has a significant role in personnel administration and assists executive management as needed with research and preparation of budget matters.
This position involves work coordinating and carrying out technical functions of the Human Resources Office of the Attorney General’s Office. Also, this position serves as the backup to the “Selection and Onboarding Coordinator” for the Department. This is a highly responsible position necessitating the ability to perform the major portion of the duties assigned with a minimum amount of supervision and requiring the ability to work well with numerous and varied individuals both inside and outside the Department in a tactful and helpful manner. This position uses discretion and independent judgement when processing Classification actions and certifying position requirements and hiring practices.
Pay: $51,000.08 Annually
Qualifications:
- Seven (7) years of professional personnel experience, or
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of professional personnel experience.
- A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in business, public administration, communications, education or one of the social or behavior sciences can substitute for one year of the required experience.
Preferences may be given to applicants with:
- Experience with People First

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for a daily workload of classification actions for assigned program area of responsibility; must independently review, evaluate, and process the actions and requests for assigned program area of responsibility. Requests may include, but are not limited to, the establishment of new positions, reclassification, adds/deletes, transfers, organizational changes, and supervisor changes.
- Responsible for providing technical assistance and guidance to field personnel and staff regarding submission of classification requests. Interprets personnel rules and classification procedures for management, supervisors, and employees.
