Job Description
Opportunity
The Regional EHS Manager plays a key role in providing leadership to 5 of our 12 Production Facilities across the U.S. The Regional EHS Manager works autonomously, regularly exercising independent judgment and discretion with limited supervision. The incumbent must display knowledge in environmental compliance, occupational health and safety, waste management and recycling, and other applicable regulatory and EHS-related topics. This role will be a part of a newly formed EHS department at Vestcom. Career growth opportunities will be available across both Vestcom and Avery Dennison.
► Key Areas of Responsibility
- Implement and oversee the maintenance of EHS systems and programs to enhance employee awareness and drive a safety culture.
- Administer, audit, and monitor adherence to EHS policies, practices, procedures, and safe work practices; identify EHS gaps.
- Develop and implement EHS training programs, including the development of on-site training coordinators.
- Facilitate and participate in facility-level risk assessments and. self-inspection proces;s oversee gaps to ensure prompt correction of deficiencies and documentation of corrective actions.
- Identify, develop and implement regional EHS strategy and objectives. Provide compliance and regulatory guidance to facility management teams within the region.
- Provide regional technical assistance on corporate initiatives, policies, practices, and procedures.
- Assure appropriate notification of environmental, health and safety-related incidents to regulatory authorities and/or internal management teams.
- Manage and oversee regional incident reporting/notification requirements, per policy and/or regulatory requirements.
- Conduct environmental, health and safety incident-related investigations, root-cause analysis, and monitor closure of incidents.
- Identify appropriate resource needs for facilities within your region, and evaluate and analyze indicators (leading and lagging), performance metrics and advise management on strategic activities and initiatives.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to site level EHS and operations resources.
- Stay current on laws and regulations through various methods (professional reading, electronic professional websites, and networking with peers).
Qualifications
► Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in EHS, environmental science, occupational health and safety, engineering or a related field. Equivalent applicable years of experience may substitute for a degree.
- 5-7 years of experience in a related position, preferably some experience in a multi-site manufacturing environment.
- Experienced in addressing a wide range of EHS issues, including waste management, regulatory reporting, chemical management, EHS program development, environmental sustainability and safety management and risk assessment systems.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations required. Understanding of environmental regulatory requirements, or willingness to learn.
- Ability to operate independently or as a fully cooperative team member.
- Ability to educate and influence people at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and good working knowledge of Google systems.
- Ability to prioritize and manage facility-level risks/gaps.
- Ability to embody and reflect Vestcom’s core values.
Additional Information
The salary range for this position is $75,000-$110,000/year
