Eversource supports work-life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, nature of work and team dynamics. Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. These guidelines apply to roles approved for remote work and are subject to change, based on managerial discretion and work performance. All applicants must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed (for example: emergencies, training, or other business needs) or should the policy change.

Eversource is looking for a Senior Project Manager, Transmission in Westwood, MA. You will independently manage high-risk, high-profile transmission projects in Massachusetts to ensure all phases of approved projects are completed efficiently and within scope, on schedule, and within budget.  Work closely with management personnel in Transmission Asset Management, Transmission Planning, Design, Land Planning, Construction and Test, Finance, Regulatory Relations, Legal, and Purchasing. Primary duties will include overall responsibility for the management of all aspects of projects including the coordination of regulatory approvals and interface with regulators and local elected officials and town department managers; managing the development and process for evaluation of bid documents for engineering, design and construction, as well as for the procurement of material and support systems; and insuring that all aspects of the projects are documented and completed in accordance with company policies and all regulations and laws.

Essential Functions: 

  • Individual is assigned traditional projects requiring close stakeholder interaction such as large substation construction projects, new transmission line projects, major transmission facility expansion projects, or projects of high complexity.

  • Has overall responsibility and ownership of the Project scope, schedule and budget.

  • Assigned projects are multi-discipline in nature, multi-stakeholder involvement, and high financial risk exposure profile requiring management reporting communications. 

  • Responsible to take the necessary action to see that the projects are completed efficiently, on time and within the established budget.

  • Works closely with Eversource Energy Delivery personnel, Legal, Regulatory Relations, Purchasing, Communications and all Transmission Business functions to ensure project success.

  • Integrates and manages a cross functional project team to develop appropriate project roles and responsibilities. 

  • Supports development of APM or PM I peers by assigning project tasks for completion and providing guidance and feedback on tasks to foster their project management knowledge.

  • In general, manages the planning, engineering, siting/permitting, procurement, construction, commissioning and close out project phases.

  • Manages the team’s development of a comprehensive project plan, schedule, communications plan and establishes the change control methodology.  

  • Manages execution of the project plan and project change control management process.

  • Coordinates the development of a detailed project budget and cash flow.

  • Manages the monthly maintenance and reporting of project scope, budgets and schedules.

  • Manages the development of a comprehensive siting and permitting needs assessment. 

  • Manages the development of and participates in the required regulatory siting, permit filings and other regulatory filings.

  • Coordinates environmental assessment and the necessary regulatory approvals (federal, state and local) needed to begin construction.

  • Ensures the timely preparation ISO-NE project submittals.

  • Manages the development and evaluation of bid documents for engineering, design, construction and test procurement of material and support systems.

  • Manages the development of required outage and energization plans.

  • Manages the timely preparation of the long-term outage plan project submittals.

  • Manages project close out in a timely manner to support corporate business goals.
