Job Summary
The Development Support Assistant will provide front desk coverage and administrative support to Development and University Advancement. This position plays a key role in maintaining an organized, welcoming, and efficient office and building environment while assisting with projects, communications, and team engagement efforts.
Duties:
1. Serve as a point of contact at the Development office and Alumni Center by greeting visitors, answering general questions, directing inquiries to appropriate staff, and providing guests with directional assistance for meetings and events in the building.
2. Provide front desk and administrative support, including managing mail and deliveries, maintaining office supplies, and keeping shared spaces organized and welcoming.
3. Monitor the Development team’s shared inbox and phone line, forwarding or responding to inquiries as appropriate, and assist with website updates.
4. Contribute to internal communications by helping prepare donor birthday cards, posting announcements on Microsoft Teams, and assisting with donor fulfillment tasks when needed.
5. Support planning and execution of Development team bonding events, including brainstorming ideas, coordinating logistics, and communicating details with staff.
6. Work alongside University Advancement teams to assist with projects and tasks, learn and follow their processes, and support timely and accurate completion of work.
7. Attend meetings and events aligned with personal semester goals to support professional development and preparation for life after graduation.
The Development Support Assistant position will require the following:

- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with visitors, staff, and campus partners.

- Problem-Solving and Independence: Able to identify solutions, research information, and complete tasks independently while maintaining accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaboration: Works well in a team environment with staff, faculty, and fellow student workers.
- Willingness to Learn: Demonstrates curiosity and an eagerness to learn about University Advancement, fundraising, and engage in professional development opportunities.

Pay Rate
$15/hour
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a customer service, office, or administrative support role.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
- Experience assisting with event planning or coordination.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Interest in higher education, communications, or fundraising.
Work Hours
10-20 hours per week, based on the student schedule
Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
On-campus position located in the ISU Foundation Suite and Great Hall in the Alumni Center.
