Public Finance Underwriting Operations Manager

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES

It is the responsibility of the Public Finance Underwriting Operations Manager to take ownership of all tasks and challenges that they encounter in the execution of their assigned position. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Supervise and administer the operations associated with Public Finance and municipal bond underwriting.

• Manage deal preparation, pre-marketing, allocation, BPAs, DTC, etc.        

• Collaborate with banking and underwriter to manage deal calendar and disseminate critical information internally/externally  

• Collaborate with sales management to provide effective marketing and pre-sale activities  

• Monitoring desk compliance with SEC, FINRA, and MSRB rules and mitigating regulatory risk

• Collaborate with Division Operations, Compliance, Legal, and IT to meet the needs of the firm and clients  

• Providing group and individual training/coaching sessions as it relates to Bloomberg TOMS and other

• Supervise and manage our Sales Assistant team

• Assisting Compliance in formulating responses for regulatory examinations

• Provide general support to Public Finance banking such as data gathering and RFP preparation

COMPETENCIES

• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

• Deep understanding of Public Finance underwriting process

• Able to work efficiently with internal and external partners

• Strong communication skills

• Proficient with Bloomberg, trade settlement/reporting systems

• Well versed around regulatory and compliance requirements

• Able to effectively manage time sensitive tasks

• Sharp attention to detail       

Qualifications, Education, and Certification Requirements

• Education: Undergraduate degree

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in public finance underwriting administration

• Certifications/Specific Knowledge: FINRA 7, 63, 52

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/CLASSES

Required FINRA continuing education, SSB annual compliance training, New Employee Orientation

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, reports, and identify customers. This position requires a large amount of time in front of a computer.  This can be done sitting or standing with use of the right desk.  This position may require bending and reaching.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Telecommuters or hybrid: Telecommuting roles no matter if hybrid or 100% full time telecommuting must have a secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions. They must also have a reliable private internet connection that is not supplied by use of cellular data (hot spot). Cable or fiber connections are preferred.  Requirements are subject to change, as new systems and technology is delivered.

TRAVEL

Travel may be required to come to meetings as needed.

In accordance with Colorado law: Colorado pay for this position is anticipated to be between $81,097.80 - $129,546.62 , actual offers to be determined based on applicant’s skills, experience and education.
