The Community Health Coordinator will be responsible for recruiting staff/volunteers from Faith-Based Organizations and Community Centers in Health Zone One (32208, 32209, 32206, 32202, 32204, 32254) as well as in rural communities (Clay, Nassau, and Baker Counties) to address CPR disparities through Cardiac Emergency Response Planning and guidance. The Coordinator will also be responsible for general health promotion and community outreach events.
This is a part-time position 10-15 hours per week, grant-funded through December 31, 2026 and will not be eligible for benefits.

Responsibilities
- Recruiting faith-based organizations and community center staff/volunteers needing assistance with Cardiac Emergency Response Planning guidance and/or AED stipends, focusing on partners with a large membership/reach in the community
- Develop and execute partner agreements in collaboration with the Legal Department to ensure partnership compliance
- Identify and foster other community outreach/stewardship opportunities with new and existing partners which can include: Policy, Systems, and Environment change strategy implementation, community CPR demonstrations, Healthy For Life Nutrition Education presentations, Essential 8 presentations throughout Health Zone 1 and rural communities of Northeast Florida.
- Support First Coast American Heart Association as needed with activities related to our campaigns to include Heart Ball, Kid’s Heart Challenge/Heart Walk, Go Red for Women Luncheon, STEAM Goes Red for Women, Youth Tobacco Symposium, and others as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Education or related discipline, or 5 years of related experience. This may be an ideal opportunity for a student currently earning a Master’s Degree.
- Progressive experience in public health, community health or equivalent
- Proven ability to recruit, train, mobilize and manage volunteers
- Demonstrated ability to drive toward and achieve results
- Effectively manage relationships with the ability to gain trust and demonstrate influence without authority
- Knowledge of community networks
- Knowledge of grant processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to reliably travel to meeting/training sites and availability to coordinate schedules with participating organizations and volunteers, including outside of regular business hours (weekends/evenings).
This position will require the Coordinator to attend occasional Saturday events.
