Job Information
Job Summary:
The primary role of the Production and Operations Assistant is to ensure all elements related to the concert are in place for a successful performance. Some planning and coordination tasks with your supervisor may be completed remotely leading up to event days. The position reports to Jessica Wolfe, Director of Production and Education of UChicago Presents. For more information, please see www.chicagopresents.uchicago.edu.
This on-site position is based at the University of Chicago, with a start date in September. The role offers an anticipated schedule of 8-12 hours per week, concentrated primarily on concert or event days. - Arrive at the venue ahead of artists and vendors to ensure that the hall is prepared, such as lights are on, stage is set/clear, piano is out, etc.
- Serve as on-site contact for vendors, receiving backline and confirming against technical riders and stage plots.
- Greet the artists at the venue, show them to green room, attend to their needs (coffee/tea, music stands, preferred piano bench, etc.), and introduce them to venue manager/crew.
- Act as a liaison between artists, the venue manager, and production team to ensure stage, lighting, and logistical requirements are met.
- Organize and oversee green room setup and cleanup; arrange refreshments or meals for artists as needed.
- Work with UCP staff as needed on set up and break down.
