Position Summary
In this position you will collaborate with the Regulatory Compliance team to facilitate activities necessary for national and international product performance standards and requirements for global market access and act as a subject matter expert, ensuring that Banner products conform to applicable requirements, through product evaluations, components/materials selection, testing, documentation, and product labeling.
This position reports to the Director of Regulatory Compliance.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Interpreting technical drawings, schematics and other design and assembly documents
- Determining and advising program teams on solutions for global market access of Banner Products
- Advising which standards cover Banner products and obtain/maintain the various standards; ensuring Banner products conform to all appropriate standards
- Keeping abreast of changes in product performance standards; monitoring national/international standards via drafts and standards committee meeting minutes for IEC, UL, FM, CCC, ATEX, and other product performance standards
- Communicating standards changes or updates in writing to management, design groups, and technical marketing
- Ensuring that all product labels, markings, product specifications and promotional materials accurately depict the appropriate standard and performance ratings
- Working with the various agencies and test labs (UL, TUV, FM, CSA, ETL, etc.) for new product approvals, including co-listed brands
- Developing methods to streamline the approval processes
- Generating supporting documentation as required for Regulatory Compliance, requests for information, and in support of audit activities.
- Maintaining corporate sources of truth, technical files, and metrics reporting.
- Providing guidance to the design teams for new and existing product performance verification tests
- Coordinating the agency work with the various product development teams and compile the required records for agency submittal per the project schedule

Required
- Minimum of Associates Degree in a technical field (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred)
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Experience obtaining certifications thru Underwriters Laboratories (UL), preference for someone who worked at UL, FM, TUV, etc.
- Familiarity with EN, ISO, UL, CISPR and FCC standards
- Familiarity working in ISO 9001 or 17025 environments
- Conformance testing experience in a lab environment performing electromechanical testing (EMC) and troubleshooting;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required to address all levels of the organization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively handle multiple projects/priorities with strong attention to detail
- Experience with design and selection of materials and/or electronic components
