Maintenance Technician: Tuesdays - Saturdays

Position Title: Maintenance Technician 

Salary: $14/hr starting pay, negotiable based experience

Schedule: Tuesdays – Saturdays; 8am – 4:30pm; on-call rotation

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent required; technical school/background preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years maintenance experiences preferred.
• Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, co-workers, and supervisors; requires courtesy, tact, and graciousness.
• Knowledge of basic tool and equipment operation and maintenance.
• Basic knowledge of heating and air system operations and maintenance.

Physical Requirements:

1. Stands, bends, lifts and moves throughout the facility and local community during workday.
2. Must be able to lift and transfer up to fifty pounds.
3. Subject to exposure to infectious waste and disease (HBV and HIV)
4. Must be able to push/pull carts, dollies throughout community. Must be able to push/pull up to 90 pounds.
5. Subject to exposure to chemicals. Please read MSDS book for detailed description of chemical use.
6. Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, involved instructions.
7. Must be able to perform duties under stress when confronted with emergency, critical unusual or dangerous situations or when working speed and sustained attention are critical aspects of this job.
8. Able and willing to utilize provided safety equipment and comply with expectations.

 

General Summary:

The Maintenance Technician Associate is responsible for the overall upkeep of residential apartments and public areas through responsive, accurate and efficient maintenance. Maintaining all aspects of the physical plant including, but not limited to, preventative maintenance, routine electrical and plumbing repairs, janitorial duties, painting and other refurbishment work, grounds work, light carpentry work, etc. under the direction of the Director of Plant Operations. 

Essential Job Duties:

 

• Perform routine and emergency repairs in residential apartments and public areas including correcting electrical malfunctions, repairing and replacing plumbing fixtures, pipes, and fittings, repairing and replacing light bulbs and fixtures, repairing doors and locks and appliance repair.
