About the role:
The Maple Grove Operations Finance Team is looking for a highly motivated Principal Cost Accountant to join our team. This individual will provide financial analysis and accounting support to the Maple Grove Manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented professional who possesses strong relationship building and communication skills.  

 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Maintain and reconcile all components of cost in 3 systems for AOP and Strategic Plan 
  • Provide analysis, distribution and reporting of other production variances weekly 
  • Process month end close including journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial statement preparation as related to the Maple Grove manufacturing facility 
  • Yield input and product cost scrap calculation 
  • Creation of Variance and Reserves Reports 
  • Creation of P&L by division for AOP, Strat Plan and all forecasting cycles 
  • Provide support for internal and external audits as relates to MG manufacturing facility 
  • Maintenance of representative part cross reference table 
  • Problem solving related to complex routers and BOM’s within SAP   

 
Required qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting 
  • 5-7+ years of relevant experience 
  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy 
  • Very strong analytical skills 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills 
  • Must be a quick learner and able to engage well with internal customers 
  • Strong Excel skills required, Financial tools ( SAP, Adaptive Planning.) preferred 
  • An interest in making process improvements
