The Gate Ambassador is responsible for overseeing a designated group of gates and ensuring smooth and timely wheelchair passenger transitions. This role supports both the passengers and wheelchair agents by managing gate coordination, organizing wheelchair availability, and assisting with transfers, especially during high-volume situations. The Gate Ambassador acts as a communication bridge between the gate, passenger assistants, shift leaders, and dispatchers. Must be able to work weekends/holidays if part of work schedule. 1st and 2nd shift available, $15.75 pay.

- Monitor and manage a group of assigned gates to ensure all passengers who need wheelchairs receive assistance efficiently.
- Communicate with passengers about the airport and airline services available.
- Assist with the passengers who need a wheelchair between connecting flights when needed.
- Support and assign Passenger Assistants when there are multiple passengers or needing extra assistance.
- Coordinate with dispatcher, coordinator and shift leaders regarding gate assignments, delays, or passenger issues.
- Report on any issues such as late arrivals, no-shows, or gate changes.
- Ensure an adequate number of wheelchairs are available and organized for each gate.
- Maintain awareness of flight schedules and arrival times to anticipate transfer needs.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in customer service. or similar work experience preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
- Effective communication skills and professionalism.
- Collaborator with an initiative-taking and helpful attitude.
- Able to lift and maneuver wheelchairs when needed.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Must meet all requirements to receive required airport SIDA badge and Customs Seal (if applicable), including ten-year work history if available.
