AEC SLC is supportive of student education through experiential development. We are currently looking for an intern to support various improvement projects in our Manufacturing Engineering department
The Inventory Control Intern will support the inventory and materials management team in maintaining efficient inventory processes, ensuring data accuracy, and contributing to the overall supply chain efficiency. This role provides hands-on experience in inventory control, exposure to material flow management, and the opportunity to develop problem-solving and analytical skills within a fast-paced environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring and maintaining accurate inventory records using [Insert System, e.g., ERP, WMS].
- Cycle Counting: Participate in regular cycle counts, reconcile discrepancies, and investigate root causes of inventory variances.
- Data Analysis: Support the analysis of inventory data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Documentation: Assist in the preparation and updating of inventory-related documentation, such as policies, procedures, and reports.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, production, and warehouse teams to align inventory levels with operational needs.
- Reporting: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports for review by the inventory control supervisor.
- Process Improvement: Identify and recommend process enhancements to improve inventory accuracy and efficiency.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, including safety and quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with inventory management systems is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently in a team-oriented environment.
- Interest in supply chain, logistics, or inventory management.
