Now Platform Team 

As part of the platform design team, you will design usable, scalable, best-in-class experiences that power ServiceNow's products, built on our new UI platform. We are serious about user experience. Our integrated team of designers, engineers, and product managers sweat the details and we are seeing the results. The Platform Design team is changing the way we create products—for thousands of designers and engineers inside our company and even more for our customers'. 

What you get to do in this role: 

  • This is a horizontal role working across many product teams to identify patterns and needs which are not currently served by the platform  
  • Work closely with product management and engineering, providing design perspective to help ensure a unified and cohesive experience across the ServiceNow ecosystem that solves specific customer problems 
  • Identify common problems and needs across multiple business units and propose new platform capabilities (such as re-usable component bundles & pages) to solve them in a scalable way. Be the “Bridge-builder across teams”  
  • Set standards and determine best practices that other teams should follow to build the best products 
  • Create components, page templates, interaction patterns, and inform the overall information architecture for many products across the company, built for different use cases 
  • Create specifications and usage guidance documentation that is easy to understand and supports our community 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:  

  • Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry.
  • BA/BS degree or higher in Design, Design Communication, Human-Computer Interaction, or equivalent combination of education and experience in other related fields 
  • Experience participating in the complete product development lifecycle of web and/or software applications. 
  • Experience in user experience design or industry experience (corporate, software, web or agency) 

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • 5+ years of relevant design experience. 
  • An inspiring portfolio demonstrating the ability to distill complex problems into elegant, holistic solutions based on human-centered design and research data 
  • Experience in developing frameworks and principles to standardize and guide cross-team work and successfully bring a product design from conception to launch with minimal supervision. 
  • A growth mindset, actively broadening areas of inquiry and learning, and seeking new opportunities and challenges. 
  • Ability to articulate and champion design solutions based on human-centered design principles and research data while influencing product experience strategy across a particular business unit or product line
