This position plays a crucial role in contributing to the agency by overseeing and managing construction projects. This role ensures that projects are delivered on time, on budget and meets the department’s quality standards. Your Specific Responsibilities:

Supervises employees spending the majority of the time communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees, and planning and directing employees’ work.  Has the authority to effectively recommend the hiring, transferring, suspension, lay off, recalls, promotions, discharges, assignments, rewards, or disciplinary actions for subordinate employees.  Plans and directs workloads, deadlines, work objectives and time utilization with subordinate staff. Provides direction and ensures that all subordinates receive training and instruction in methods and techniques necessary to safely perform their assigned tasks.

Performs and serves as a Construction Manager for Treasure Coast Operations in support of highway and bridge construction program. Supervises subordinates administering consultant and construction contracts, final estimates preparation, and materials coordination.  Ensures all work is completed in compliance with the established procedures for each discipline.  Advises staff with regard to all aspects of Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) construction contract administration matters.  Supervises employees by communicating regularly, motivating, training, evaluating, planning and directing employee's wo
