Overview

This is a full-time career opportunity that can be remote within the Fulton Bank footprint as follows: DC, DE, MD, NJ, PA, VA.

 

This role is responsible for ensuring robust oversight of the organization's credit and portfolio risk management practices. By supporting the Chief Credit Officer (CCO) in reporting to the Board and Credit Risk Committee, conducting stress testing, and establishing loan concentration limits, the role plays a critical part in mitigating financial risk, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining a sound and balanced credit portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Design and lead Credit data strategic initiatives to enhance our data ecosystem including data management, transformations, and governance to advance data capabilities and streamline Credit Risk reporting.
  • Improve and drive data quality and governance strategies by ensuring best practices for data solutions used across all Credit functions and partnering departments.
  • Become subject matter expert of enterprise data sources and platforms used by the Credit organization and partner departments, and enable Credit data users and analysts to effectively utilize these data sources for analytics and reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement of Credit data environment and reporting tools and systems to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of reporting.
  • Design, develop, and implement Credit Risk reporting platforms, with set guidelines and industry best practices.
  • Monitor credit portfolios and identify potential risk. Use behavioral characteristics to determine likelihood of non-accrual and charge off status, monitor and manage credit concentrations within the business lending portfolio, and oversee portfolio stress testing and loan portfolio concentrations limits, setting the limits as appropriate based on risk assessment.
  • Oversee management reports with the focus of identification of credit risk by market, industry and commercial real estate properties, line of business and loan segments. Oversee the Asset Quality Reporting.
  • Develop monthly management report on asset quality by line of business, industry and CRE property type for board and risk committees.
  • Monitor and respond to all audits. Participate in Credit Risk Management Committee or related corporate risk oversight committees.
  • Prepare reports on credit risk exposure, trends, and performance for internal stakeholders, senior management, and regulatory
  • authorities while striving for continuous improvement on data management and reporting.
  • Effectively manage staff, provide guidance, coaching and training resources, establish individual goals and objectives, monitor volume, workflow and quality, and provide performance feedback including annual performance appraisals. Conduct stay interviews, and support staff with development opportunities.
  • Manage and ensure that the bank’s operating procedures and information systems are adequate to enable management to comply with laws, regulations and board established policies regarding insider activities. Ensure the portfolio concentrations and loan stress testing comply are in accordance with relevant supervisory guidance.
  • Ensure that policies adequately address the consequences of breaches of fiduciary duty, unethical conduct, violations of law, or suspected criminal activity and contain effective internal reporting mechanisms as well as suspicious activity report filing processes.

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • May assume leadership roles on corporate wide risk committees.
  • May assume leadership roles in data governance.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent experience. Specialty: accounting or other applicable. (Required)

Experience

10 or more years experience in data integrity, credit analytics, and assessing credit risk for commercial and consumer loan portfolios. (Required)

3 or more years programming in Python. (Required)

3 or more years experience in PowerBI and AWS. (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Able to effectively explain analysis, both verbally and in writing, to others and translate analysis into business impact (Required)
  • Able to lead in thought and action, build senior leader
