WORKING TITLE: DISTRIBUTED COMPTER SYSTEMS ANALYST

This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Wakulla Correctional Institution Annex in the Office of Technology.

The mission of the Office of Information Technology at the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to provide innovative, reliable, and secure technology solutions that support the department's strategic goals and operational needs.

This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

 

JOB DUTIES:

• Multi-Site IT Support: Provide comprehensive support for computer systems across multiple sites, including major institutions, probation & parole offices, community facilities, and regional offices.
• Network Planning and Troubleshooting: Plan, design, implement, and troubleshoot local area networks and client/server architecture, including connecting personal computers and installing software products.
• Statewide System Installation: Install and support a statewide network of computer equipment, conduct site surveys, coordinate with contractors, process equipment orders, and provide post-installation support.
• Technical System Management: Install and support network computers, manage system backups, recovery, and troubleshooting, ensuring smooth operation of all technical systems.
• Help Desk and Inventory Support: Assist with general Data Processing (DP)/Help Desk support, maintain inventory of DP equipment, and coordinate with other DP areas and agencies to resolve any issues.
