Management Analyst III (Business Insights Analyst) Clinical Data Operations -Corporate-Full-Time-Days (Hybrid/Remote)
The mission of Clinical Data Operations is to improve Mount Sinai Health System performance and outcomes by providing leadership and care teams with quantifiable data and insights needed for operations, clinical performance measurement, quality improvement, analytics, and outcomes research. We provide solutions to integrate, cleanse, govern, translate and dispense information across Mount Sinai Health System’s clinical institutes and clinical care service lines.
Our team is seeking a Business Insights Analyst to integrate data analytics and programmatic insights with actionable recommendations resulting in operational improvements at the Mount Sinai Health System.
Challenges include:
- Developing a thorough and complete understanding of complex methodology for U.S. News Best Hospital rankings including Adult Specialties, Pediatrics, and Procedures & Conditions.
- Developing a thorough and complete understanding of complex methodology for CMS Stars ratings and measures.
- Maintaining organizational knowledge for key programs as they evolve.
- Engaging key stakeholders through dynamic and relevant deliverables.
- Develop and maintain monthly tracking system for all U.S. News and CMS Stars measures and programs.
- Work closely with marketing, hospitals, and clinical documentation teams to identify opportunities to improve outcomes and scores for U.S. News rankings and CMS Stars ratings.
- Partner with Clinical and Quality Improvement teams to proactively identify and prioritize efforts to support key measures.
- Implement and lead collaboration with Clinical Documentation Improvement teams to optimize operational efforts.
- Work closely with analytics/data science teams to create and deploy algorithms to flag or trigger case review or other required action.
- Bachelor's (required) or Master's (preferred) in Business, Public Health, Economics or related field.
- 5+ years progressive business and decision support experience
- Strong or expert level Excel skills
- 2+ years of experience with SAS, SQL, or R
- Ability to think creatively about complex analytic problems.
- Excellent at communicating difficult concepts (Oral and Written).
- Self-motivated and organized in pushing projects to completion.
- Able to learn quickly on the job with minimal guidance.
Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with U.S. News Best Hospital rankings and methodology.
- Familiarity with key data sets: HCAHPS, Doximity, CMS Standard Analytic Files, AHA Surveys, Hospital Compare
- Presentation of complex methodologies to key stakeholders.
- Prior work in a clinical healthcare setting.
- Understanding of healthcare clinical operations, workflow, policies, and procedures.
Compensation Statement
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $72,473.00 - $148,950.42 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
