The Role:

Moderna's Individualized Neoantigen Therapy (INT) digital team is seeking an MBA intern for the Summer 2025 internship program. This role supports Moderna's mission to deliver individualized mRNA-based cancer therapies through cutting-edge digital solutions. The digital strategy focuses on secure, resilient, and AI-driven systems that optimize cycle times, reduce costs, and expedite tumor-to-treatment timelines by integrating digital innovation across facility design, manufacturing processes, and equipment.
The MBA Intern will work on diverse aspects of digital operations, contributing to projects that streamline sample collection, medicine manufacturing, and delivery to patients, supporting the end-to-end digital operations of Moderna’s INT pipeline, collaborating across teams to optimize workflows, enhance security, and reduce costs. They’ll contribute to AI-driven improvements for faster data insights. By the end of the summer, the intern will have a comprehensive understanding of the digital framework that supports Moderna’s INT, and the unique challenges and opportunities within personalized medicine.
Here's What You’ll Do:
The Moderna MBA Programs:
In addition to contributing to strategic projects on their teams, our MBA interns will have the opportunity to engage with our senior leaders, build lasting bonds with their cohort members, and participate in development opportunities that are unique to Moderna’s innovative platform and culture. They will also gain insight into Moderna’s MBA Leadership Accelerator Program, an 18-month program designed to develop Moderna’s next generation of enterprise leaders. MBA interns who receive full-time offers after their internship would return to Moderna upon graduation as part of this exciting program.
Timeline and Logistical Notes:
The Summer 2025 MBA internship will be an 11-week experience running from June 2 – August 15, 2025. (Any changes to internship dates will be communicated to students during interviews). The application deadline for the internship is December 5th, 2024 and applicants will be invited for interviews by mid-December. Interviews will be conducted in early/mid-January and successful candidates will be notified by the end of January.
Moderna has posted separate job postings for each business function’s MBA intern roles. Eligible students are welcome to apply to as many of these postings as they would like but will only be invited to interview for a maximum of two different MBA intern roles.
Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications):
Currently enrolled as a 1st year in a full-time MBA program (planned graduation in Spring 2026)
4+ years experience pre-MBA in healthcare consulting, pharma, biotech, or similar experience in a professional services or investment capacity (e.g., management or strategy consulting, investment banking, private equity, or venture capital)
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications):
Demonstrated success in digital delivery and project management, preferably within a highly regulated environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic environments and capable of navigating ambiguity.
Familiarity with AI, machine learning, and digital orchestration tools is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
Self-starter with a strong initiative and the ability to work independently on complex projects.
Passion for contributing to the advancement of personalized medicine and the innovative application of digital technologies.
Curiosity and eagerness to learn about mRNA technology and its applications in oncology.
Advanced verbal and written communication skills to deliver a compelling narrative/message to senior stakeholders in the organization
Ability to multitask, learn quickly, and pivot fearlessly based on real-time data
Comfort with ambiguity and with designing and executing projects simultaneously
