About the role

The Role:

Based at New Norfolk community Nursing Team Lower Ground, New Norfolk District Hospital, this role also requires working across sites which could include starting your day at either Central Highlands (Ouse), New Norfolk, and Midlands (Oatlands), involving home visits and clinic appointments.

You will need:

  1. Current knowledge of, and the ability to apply nursing principles, procedures, and practices in the delivery of patient/client care in a designated practice area and in line with legal requirements and the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board (ANMB) National Competency Standards for the Registered Nurse.
  2. Sound interpersonal and communication skills, including written skills and the ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  3. Knowledge of continuous quality improvement (safety and quality) and the application of evidence-based practice in the practice setting.
  4. Ability to undertake patient/client education in the practice setting, together with a commitment to participate in ongoing professional development.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term, part time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working 64 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of approximately twelve (12) months.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $75,902 to $102,908 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023

Allowances: 

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum
  • Access to the Grade 4 salary range $96,558 - $102,908 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4
  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type
  • Remote and Rural Professional Development Allowance of an additional salary allowance of 4% (Beaconsfield, Bruny Island, Campbell Town, Deloraine, Esperance, George Town, Ouse, Scottsdale, Smithton, Southern Midlands, Swansea, St. Helens, St. Marys and Triabunna)

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

  • Working with Vulnerable People Registration

  • Current Driver’s Licence
