The One 23 Group, a Virginia-based Government Contractor, seeks a COMPUTER SYSTEMS ENGINEER/ARCHITECT - SENIOR, local to Fort Gregg-Adams, VA.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our dynamic team in a role as a Computer Systems Engineer/Architect. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in designing, implementing, and managing VMware and Azure cloud-based solutions that meet the needs of DeCA. This role requires a strong understanding of Data Centers, Storage Area Network (SAN) solutions, VMware, Microsoft Cloud Technologies (Azure), and operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix).
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and performance of on premises and cloud services.
- Assist in planning, management, support, and oversight of DeCA’s Azure PaaS/IaaS environment to include migration in the Azure environment.
- Assist in delivering solution recommendations to DeCA based on understanding of Microsoft Azure domain/technology.
- Use experience and best practices to drive decision making, identify alternatives, pros and cons, and make recommendations.
- Assist in maintaining mission partner high availability features in the Azure environment.
- Assist with familiarization of Azure portal and Azure-specific technologies leveraged in DeCA’s cloud environment.
- Designing and implementing VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter Servers, and related components.
- Maintaining and troubleshooting VMware infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and addressing issues.
- Create, manage, and provision virtual machines, including template management.
- Manage virtualized infrastructure, including storage, networking, and security.
- Maintaining documentation for VMware configurations and procedures, and providing support to other IT personnel.
- Plan and implement disaster recovery solutions for VMware environments.
- Work with other IT teams, including networking and storage, to ensure a cohesive IT infrastructure.
- Provide Enterprise Infrastructure Support and Storage Area Network (SAN) Support to include:
- Complete life cycle support for all on-prem Data Center hardware and software, to include operating systems, applications, physical/virtual Servers, virtual machines, and SAN devices.
- Assist in planning, analysis, integration, testing, implementation, operation, maintenance, information assurance, cybersecurity, and final disposition of all Data Center components.
- Identify and balance risks and rewards to meet objectives.
Knowledge/Experience must include:
- Customer Service/Support
- Understanding of vSphere security best practices including role-based access control, certificate management, and hardening guidelines.
- Knowledge of VM hardware compatibility, VM template creation, cloning, and snapshot management.
- Hands-on experience with vRealize Suite (vROps, vRA, vRLI) for automation, performance monitoring, and log analytics.
- Familiarity with VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) and VMware Replication for disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Experience designing, deploying, and managing enterprise-scale VMware infrastructures, including resource pools, DRS clusters, HA/FT, and vMotion.
- Experience supporting and documenting build and configuration changes throughout environments.
- Understanding of industry standard systems architecture and systems management concepts and tools.
- Experience in the design, deployment, and support of medium to large, complex systems.
