Senior Business Intelligence Developer

ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT

This candidate will be a subject matter expert to provide high quality software technology solutions that address business data needs. They will provide support in the creation of efficient and reusable processes associated with the deployment and security of deliverables and effectively manage business objectives through data analysis, transformation and integration. The candidate will be responsible for mentoring, planning, and providing project directives for the other developers on the team. Additionally, the candidate will provide leadership in the overall development of data solutions as well as system integration in Azure..

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

• Lead, design, plan, and execute software development to support strategic objectives.
• Design and develop automation solutions to reduce manual work and create efficiencies
• Participate in and lead design sessions with fellow developers, business analysts and other team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed solution.
• Lead and/or participate in architectural design process.
• Create ETL solutions to load data marts and data warehouses as well as structures in Azure
• Develop and maintain enterprise data warehouse processes to support reporting initiatives.
• Design and implement database structures using best practices and cloud-based services
• Review requirements documentation in order to interpret and map use cases, business rules and functional design with team members.
• Author and distribute technical specifications for review to peers and support teams such as Information Security and Information Technology Operations groups.
• Create reports, dashboards, scorecards and other visual aids that communicate effectively
• Conduct performance tuning of queries to meet response times required by the business teams.
• Provide training and support to the team on Azure best practices.

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (i.e. Mathematics, Statistics or Computer Information Science) or equivalent professional experience.

EXPERIENCE

• 6+ years of experience building data development solutions
• 5+ years of experience in developing, programming, scaling, and optimizing schemas, optimizing SQL queries and performance tuning queries, ETL pipelines for OLTP, and data warehouse environments (Microsoft SQL server, Oracle, or similar database technologies) while ensuring best practices are followed.
• 2+ years of experience with cloud services (Microsoft Azure preferred).
• Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel skills – Pivot Tables, charts & graphs, formulas, etc.)
• Strong T-SQL and ETL development experience.  SSIS and Azure Data Factory preferred.
• 6+ years working with SQL Server and relational database management systems
• Financial services industry experience preferred

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Experience and solid understanding of fundamental data solutions and development methodologies as well as best practices.
• Experience with various, relevant Microsoft Azure services, e.g., Data Lake
