Job Description

Health Safety & Environmental Internship

Location: Jacksonville, FL              

Type: Full Time Co-Op / Paid Intern                      Department: Plant Operations

WHEN YOU JOIN US, YOU WILL BE;

• Perform engineering projects utilizing sound design principles
• Works with operations team to identify and implement safety and production CI initiatives.
• Create work instructions and perform job hazard analyses for areas on the production floor.
• Participates in safety improvements for all equipment and continuous quality improvements for processes
• Creates layouts and process diagrams to support standardization and CI.
• Identify hazards by analyzing jobs and their associated tasks.
• Assist in ensuring the site complies with corporate process standards. This includes preparation for the annual corporate process audit and follow-up on all issues raised during the audit.
• Identifies potential areas of product improvement; recommends and assists with development of appropriate solutions.
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Work in an office environment with limited exposure to the production floor where various rubber, adhesives, grease, oils, carbon black, steam and industrial manufacturing machines are used.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE;

• Currently enrolled in bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering – Required
• Must be capable to navigate and leverage the power of complicated software ERP programs and all ancillary software
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to analyze and solve problems
• Take initiative to identify and resolve problems
• General computer knowledge
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), safety and values focused
• Leading by example with safety and safe work habits
• Good hand dexterity

WORK AUTHORIZATIONS AND TRAVEL;

• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• No travel requirement
