Warehouse & Inventory Specialist

Scope and Purpose of Position:

The Warehouse and Inventory Specialist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day warehouse and inventory operations to ensure accurate tracking, proper handling, and efficient movement of materials within the distribution center. This role focuses on inventory accuracy, shipping and receiving activities, materials organization, and compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. The position operates within established procedures and systems and contributes to maintaining an organized, safe, and audit-ready warehouse environment.


Essential Functions:
Inventory & Materials Management
• Maintain accurate inventory records for non merchandising items, including warehouse consumables, office supplies, warranty materials, cases, boxes, and related supplies.
• Conduct regular cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory audits to ensure alignment between physical stock and system records.
• Identify, research, and assist in resolving inventory discrepancies, including shortages, overages, and damaged items.
Shipping, Receiving & Distribution
• Receive, inspect, and unload incoming materials; verify shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and bills of lading.
• Distribute incoming mail and merchandise to appropriate associates or departments in a timely manner.
• Pick, pack, label, and stage outbound shipments in accordance with shipping requirements.
• Prepare and ship Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs) to manufacturers for repair, replacement, or credit, as required.
Equipment & Warehouse Operations
• Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, in compliance with safety standards.
• Maintain forklift certification records and support equipment upkeep documentation.
• Ensure proper stock rotation and organization of warehouse locations to support efficiency and safety.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
• Manage site level hazardous waste activities, including proper storage, documentation, permitting, and coordination of disposal in accordance with federal and state regulations.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment in compliance with OSHA and internal safety standards.
Additional Responsibilities
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support changing business needs.

• Prior experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Active, valid driver’s license required
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and warehouse safety practices
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English instructions, correspondence, and documentation
• Ability to communicate effectively in one on one and small group settings Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
