Scientist, Global R&D Digital Laboratories

 

The Scientist, Global R&D Digital Laboratories will be the Process Owner for the ONE Lab Systems ELN and for globally used R&D applications, which is an important interface for all R&D users of the system at the site. They will be the central point of contact for all R&D employees and will be responsible for user administration and trainings, continuous adaptation of the systems, change management and global communication within the R&D labs. Working together with Project Management and IT on the establishment and customization of software for R&D laboratories. The electronic documentation is part of the core area of R&D and must contain all IP & legal requirements. 

 

Key areas of responsibilities will include:
-    Operational administration of the electronic laboratory journal (ELN), user management and material inventory system management, change management, user support, and establishing the systems.

-    Business analysis and management to ensure the needs of the laboratories. Data collection for the departments, diverse interfaces to support laboratory employees in R&D as well as cross-departmental interfaces to support LSM, SHE, IT and QA

-    Organizing key user meetings, providing user training and communication, and training R&D employees within BioNTech 

-    Creating templates and complex spreadsheets that are essential for tracking any changes.

-    Providing technical support, continuous adjustment and configuration of the system, and operational documentation

 

Requirements:
-    Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Computer Science or related fields and at least 5-7 years of relevant experience
-    Scientific background/understanding of lab processes, experience working with both R&D and IT teams to establish software for R&D laboratories
-    Proven experience and understanding working with Digital Laboratories, Laboratory Applications ELN, LIMS, etc.  experience preferred 

-    Broad overview of the available digital technologies
-    Deep understanding of laboratory processes and workflows
-    Excellent communication skills and experience working in a global environment
-    Ability to work on site 3 days per week
