About the role
Primary Functions:
- Use your experience and knowledge to support operations in keeping the process running, by daily monitoring of process equipment
- Troubleshoot and Evaluate Root Causes – process, equipment, and maintenance issues.
- Keep preventive maintenance for equipment up to date to improve reliability. Preparation and commitment to minimize calls outs.
- Complete all Work order in a timely manner. Work Order tracking from initiation to closure (inserting written notes in the Work Order as work is completed and/or current status).
- Support trainees and new hires to assure proper training for our equipment including Mechanical, Instrumentation and Electrical requirements by assisting with On-the-Job Training (OJT) and coaching.
- Effectively communicate daily activities with Operations, Maintenance, and Support staff.
- Use craftmanship when completing task. Take time to fix issues right the first time.
- Work with supervision to improve maintenance procedures. Provide recommendations and/or design for process improvements.
- Work directly with Planner to understand and help kit work orders, keep clean work areas and shop cleaned daily.
- Ability to work overtime when necessary and work the on-call rotation when scheduled
- Take ownership of plant equipment and learn process and different systems we have on-site. Be responsible for learning and mastering the function of equipment and process systems.
- Stop an activity that could result in injury or harm the environment
Essential Functions:
- Safety Compliance to include but not limited to:
- Lockout Tagout
- Confined Space
- Hot Work
- PPE
- Line Breaking
- Fall Protection
- Preparation of work area for upcoming tasks
- Pre and Post task Analysis
Skills/Abilities:
- Must have good understanding of Basic Industrial Electricity.
- Must be able to troubleshoot 480 Volt motors and controls.
- Must be able to read and test both Analog and voltage using Test meter.
- Must be able to read and understand schematics and loop sheets.
- Must be able to Calibration and test instrumentation using test loop calibrators.
- Must be able to use aerial lifts and Fork trucks.
- Working knowledge of Foxboro DCS is a plus.
- Working knowledge of PLC Ladder logic and control wiring.
- Welding and Fabrication is preferred.
- Working knowledge of pneumatic convey system is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Pumps, Gear boxes, Rotary Valves, Screw conveyors and Baghouse equipment.
- Working knowledge of laser alignment.
- Working knowledge of control valves both digital and Analog.
- Working knowledge of Batch and Sequence control.
Knowledge:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent; Additional education is a plus
- Three or more years of experience in Industrial Maintenance.
- Placement based on mechanical aptitude assessment and previous relevant work experience
- Must have a clear driving record
- Good communications skills including written and verbal assignments
- Demonstrate competent computer skills
Essential Physical Demands:
- Must be able to climb 5-10 flights of stairs multiple times
- Must be able to climb ladders (multiple rungs) both fixed and portable.
- Must be able to sustain overhead reaching, bending, squatting, twisting.
- Must be able to sustain continuous sitting and standing
- Must be able to lift ~50 lb., pull, and push tools/equipment with ease.
- Must be able to work in outside elements (Heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.)
- Must be able to walk without assistance on various work surfaces (gravel, concrete, asphalt, grating, dirt)
- Must be able to verbally communicate via radio
- Must be able to wear appropriate PPE (hard hat, eye protection, face shield, hearing protection, gloves, chemical suits, steel toed shoes, fall arrest).
