This is a Temporary position limited to no more than 9-months.
Job Summary:
The MIBH currently seeks a temporary (9-month) full-time licensed Speech-Language Pathologist who will work within the MIBH interdisciplinary team. The responsibilities of this position focus on direct patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide exceptional direct evaluation and intervention within an interdisciplinary clinical care team, interacting directly with physicians, allied, behavioral health and integrative care providers.
· Primarily engage in patient-centered cognitive-communication assessment and intervention, with additional care in speech, voice and swallowing as clinically indicated.
· Demonstrate skill in clinical screening and referral for needs in allied fields and services (e.g., Audiology, ENT, Gastroenterology).
· Provide clinical treatment and education for patients and family members regarding communication strategies and cognitive strategy support.
· Promote improved quality of care across the MIBH by emphasizing understanding and integration of strategies to support foundational components of TBI-related persistent symptom improvement, with a primary focus on cognitive functioning, auditory-related problems, and communication.
· Participate in collaborative clinical team rounds, decision making, and administrative staffing.
· Successfully communicate with colleagues and staff (both written and verbal), shifting communication style as dictated by the communication partner.
· Uphold ASHA, CU-AMC, CU Medicine, and UC Health standards for ethics, patient documentation, confidentiality, and other related procedures.
Work Location:
Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.
