Job Description:

Our work depends on a Cloud Automation Engineer joining our team to support a US Air Force program that is playing a major role in strengthening and modernizing America's Ground-Based Strategic Deterrent. GDIT will develop and deliver a digital engineering design solution that enables and integrates the program’s complete set of data, tools, and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) activities, and makes them available to internal and appropriate external engineering and programmatic stakeholders throughout the program’s lifecycle. This Cloud Automation Engineer position will directly contribute to building and supporting the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructure and MBSE tools of the digital engineering environment.

This position is remote with up to 40% travel to the greater Salt Lake City, Utah area.

How a Cloud Automation Engineer will make an impact:

  • Building and maintaining cloud infrastructure in Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Deploying and maintaining applications on Amazon EC2 and Kubernetes
  • Deploying infrastructure and software using a combination of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Configuration as Code (CaC), and GitLab CI/CD pipelines
  • Troubleshooting application deployments 
  • Identifying and implementing improvements to how we securely build, deploy, and monitor software projects
  • Provide insight and guidance for the preparation and maintenance of all documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects
  • Mentoring team members in IaC and CI/CD best practices

What you’ll need to succeed:

Required experience/skills:

  • Active Secret clearance with ability to upgrade/maintain a Top Secret clearance
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II+ Certification or higherSecurity+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA Security.
  • Expertise in Linux based environments and bash scripting
  • Expertise in utilizing Terraform and Ansible to provision and qualify Cloud-based infrastructure
  • Experience with deploying and administrating Microsoft SCCM/MECM
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) architecture
  • Must be detail oriented, critical thinker, possess excellent problem-solving skills
  • Desire for continuous improvement and a commitment to best practices
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer engineering, systems engineering or any related field/major, or additional years of experience in information technology
     

Desired:

  • Experience implementing DISA STIGs across multiple product types and in secure environments
  • Prior experience with SIEM engineering and analysis
  • Experience installing and configuring security applications such as ACAS/Nessus/WSUS/HBSS
  • Demonstrable experience configuring Windows servers with Powershell Desired State Configuration (DSC)
  • AWS Certification (Solutions Architect Association, Solutions Architect Professional)
  • Active Top Secret clearance

The likely salary range for this position is $123,250 - $166,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
