Summary

As the Director, Continuous Improvement, you will report to the Vice President, Operations. You’ll partner with business leaders, our OEM partners, and other key stakeholders to design, develop and deploy strategies and tactics to address critical organizational and operational needs across LiftOne. You will be responsible for leading LiftOne’s business transformation plan which utilizes Lean tools, as well as enhanced data and embedded equipment technologies, and is a key element of our strategy for improvement and growth.

Essential Functions

  • Provide leadership, strategy, and guidance for LiftOne’s lean transformation program as well as our process to more effectively leverage technology and data to solve our internal and external customers’ biggest pain points
  • Own and drive the LiftOne playbook including implementation of standard work, layered audits, process optimization, data analysis, kaizen bursts, daily performance huddles, and value stream mapping
  • Drive the process for identifying, aggregating, and deploying best practices and improvement ideas across all levels of LiftOne’s branch network; help build KPIs to track success
  • Drive the development, improvement, and modernization of the LiftOne Operating System
  • Support the design, implementation, and change management of LiftOne’s digital transformation
  • Coach and mentor a team of continuous improvement specialists to build a key talent pipeline into the organization
  • Identify and prioritize continuous improvement projects and work with cross functional leaders to staff appropriately to drive impact across the business
  • Serve as a bridge between sales and operations teams for major fleet level customers to help improve our customers experiences and drive cost savings
  • Direct the training of all company employees in Lean principles and help them understand that in continuous improvement, as you approach the answers, more questions will arise.
  • Work to create a Lean culture and build root cause problem solving capabilities throughout the company in a manner that the team embraces and understands. The key is to have our group realize that CI helps them do their jobs more effectively and easier.
  • Develop a communication and management cadence that will promote CI/Lean/Data successes
  • Be a thought partner to service leaders in achieving customer experience goals and annual sales/profitability targets
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has supervisory responsibilities. The Director of Continuous Improvement will be a manager of managers, helping build teams of continuous improvement specialists to support all functional teams of the business.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or math preferred with a focus on analytics or industrial engineering.
  • Seven-plus years of experience in teaching Lean and implementation of CI/Lean methodologies with a demonstrated success in building a continuous improvement culture and driving business impact.
  • Excellent project management skills are necessary as we begin this journey. PMP certification a plus.
