Senior Manager, Quality Assurance

Responsible for ensuring the on-going development and implementation of departmental quality assurance practices designed to satisfy customer specifications and expectations regarding IMS services and products developed or installed. Ensures that ABS’ information technology and business system practices meet the organization’s objectives for the development/acquisition, testing, implementation, maintenance and disposal of systems and infrastructure.

A broad background in quality software development practices, tools, and processes is required to be successful in this position. Experience with Agile and knowledge of quality is a must. The ideal candidate will be a team player, self-motivated, and able to quickly learn and define the responsibilities of the position. Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills, are crucial for success.

What You Will Do:

1. Define and deploy quality targets for our products based on customer, market, and application requirements
2. Define and maintains program level software quality engineering processes, resources, and infrastructure
3. Develop a product quality and testing strategy and plan based on Product and customer requirements or technology innovation
4. Lead and manage several teams of onshore and offshore QA resources and engineers across multiple product lines in testing strategy, test plan development, testing preparation, automation, execution, and reporting.
5. Verifies that product testing is accomplished per product release requirements and documentation
6. Work with sites to develop maturity of Zero-Defect approach and to execute a reduction in customer quality escapes and complaints
7. Cooperate with other internal business and operational functions for all Quality Management aspects across all product lines
8. Deploy new Quality Tools & Methods as needed
9. Standardize defect tracking, resolution and ensure completion and delivery to customers
10. Train and coach other colleagues in the Quality Management team in building a best-in class processes and automation tools.
11. Supports the identification and analysis of product software metrics to improve software quality and manage risk
12. Drive information and documentation of product quality related topics like quality related queries and documents

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience

• QA professional with solid understanding of product lifecycles and 10+ years software industry and management experience
• At least 4 years of experience building and leading Quality assurance teams
• Must have minimum 5+ years' experience in testing products and platforms in Windows, Cloud solutions, Java, Web and native apps, Web Services,  XML, SQL Server, front end, backend, and integration testing 
• Must have minimum 3+ years' experience in Automation tools such as UFT, Selenium, JUnit, Soap UI or other 
• Bachelor’s degree or recognized equivalent, preferably in Computer Science or a related field, from an accredited university or equivalent industry experience. Advanced degree or comparable on-the-job experience is also required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proven project management responsibility for successful medium-scale (two to three work year level of effort) projects.
• Prior administrative responsibility for three to five professionals.
• Experience in Best Practice Standards of ISO−9000 and ISO−27000 and how the IT System Development and Operating processes and procedures align to optimize IT Governance.   
• Prior experience working in organizations to support services provided to internal/external clients.
• Prior experience in auditing of operational controls.  
• Clarity and conciseness in oral and written communications; demonstrated capability to produce effective presentations for delivery to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong interpersonal skills to achieve process changes and departmental goals within a matrix organization; ability to communicate and work well with others at all levels of the corporation.
• Working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System.

Reporting Relationships:

Reports directly to the Director, Engineering and may have Individual Contributor direct reports.
