About the role
Supernal is at the forefront of creating emerging mobility solutions that will foster the development of human-centered cities. We are designing a completely new electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft tailored to the mobility needs of future cities. This allows passengers a seamless intermodal journey that safely transports them to their final destination. We fuse research in autonomy, robotics, aviation and services to define a new category of mobility for the world’s communities. What we do:
As the Senior Manager of Procurement, you play a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s procurement strategy. Your responsibilities include strategic sourcing, supplier management, supply chain development, and contractual support. You lead end-to-end projects, from proposal development to mass production, ensuring alignment with quality, delivery, and inventory goals, as well as general contractual supplier support for all assigned Supernal engineering verticals.
This position will be required to work on-site 5 days a week.
What you can do:
- Lead the implementation of Supernal’s procurement strategy for assigned vertical(s) to achieve business requirements
- Analyze cost drivers, market dynamics, and technical aspects within procurement categories
- Develop comprehensive sourcing plans to optimize costs while ensuring quality
- Identify, evaluate, and select strategic suppliers and partners
- Negotiate and implement high-value, long-term agreements
- Implement standard processes and innovative solutions for continuous improvement
- Manage projects, ensuring alignment with quality, delivery, and inventory goals
- Facilitate new product introductions and rate adjustments
- Supports and makes recommendations to facilitate Make vs Buy strategy decisions
- Evaluates the global market environment and make recommendations for sourcing strategies
- Knowledge of how to successfully handle and maintain supplier relationships
- Contract & pricing negotiation
- Ability to lead cross-functionally without formal authority, e.g., ability to influence decision-making at all levels of the business
- Provide informal mentorship for junior colleagues
- May require up to 30% of domestic and international travel
- Other duties as assigned
What you can contribute:
- Bachelor’s degree in the fields of Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business required
- A minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience in the field of manufacturing
- Good understanding of supply chain networks, linkage, and flow
- Proficiency with SAP and Ariba preferred
- 5 years of previous supervisory experience preferred
- Certification in Purchasing, Supply Chain, and/or Program Management a plus
- MBA/MS preferred
