Part-Time Lecturer in Music

Description

During the winter and spring quarters of the 2023-24 academic year the Humanities Collegiate Division and the Department of Music may have part-time teaching opportunities for courses in the Department of Music that count toward fulfilling requirements in the Art/Music/Drama Core. We seek courses that focus on musical materials and design with the aim of making students acquainted with the processes of music composition.

Responsibilities will include preparing class lectures, holding regularly scheduled office hours, and the preparation and grading of assignments and testing materials.

 

Minimum qualifications are a master’s degree or equivalent (PhD preferred) in music or a related field, and at least one year of experience teaching at the university or post-secondary level.

 

Depending on the curricular needs of the department, the successful candidate may teach between one and four courses per academic year. In 2023-24, the per-course salary is $7,538. This position is not benefits eligible.
