Who You Are
As a Product Designer on the International team, your primary responsibility will be shaping our products for a global audience, contributing to Justworks’ international expansion. Your expertise in user research will be key as you work to understand the unique needs and preferences of our diverse customer base worldwide.
While reporting to a design manager, you will help drive the design process across cross-functional teams, advocating for a user-centric approach at every stage. Your understanding of system-level thinking will guide you in simplifying intricate design challenges while paying meticulous attention to every interaction and visual detail.
You will be a proactive advocate for early and frequent collaboration, collaborating closely with your International team colleagues (based in the Toronto and New York offices) and external stakeholders to gather valuable insights. Your goal will be to create a world-class user experience across the entire Justworks product suite, ensuring that our products are tailored to meet the specific requirements of users from different cultural backgrounds and regions. Through your dedication to excellence in user research, you will play a crucial role in shaping our international expansion and guaranteeing a seamless and delightful user experience for customers worldwide.
What You Will Work On
- Collaborate effectively with designers, product managers, engineers, product marketing, and other cross-functional partners to identify and define product opportunities.
- Steer projects through an end-to-end design process: design strategy, research, exploration, interaction and visual design, prototyping, testing, launch, evaluation and iteration.
- Apply systems thinking to visualize the experience and identify problems. Approach problems critically, help refine problem statements, and present different ideas on how we might solve them.
- Run research sessions to uncover customer problems, needs, and mental models.
- Facilitate workshops and brainstorm sessions with your team, designers, and other departments.
- Create conceptual design solutions for strategic problems and dive into the interactions and visual details.
- Present and effectively communicate the conceptual vision and foster ideas to help spread storytelling techniques to inspire the team.
- Support design decisions with data and insights.
- Collaborate closely with engineers to deliver the polished final product.
- Contribute to our internal design process and design system.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
