Job Description
As a Senior Bookkeeper, you’ll be at the heart of this growing property styling company’s financial operations. Managing accounts for multiple locations, you’ll leverage your expertise in Xero and other financial systems to streamline processes, ensure accuracy, and provide valuable insights. This role offers a unique blend of traditional bookkeeping tasks and strategic financial management, allowing you to make a significant impact on the business’s financial health and growth trajectory. You’ll work closely with the leadership team, contributing to financial decision-making and helping to drive the company’s success in a dynamic, fast-paced industry.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end bookkeeping processes using Xero, including AR/AP, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Process weekly payroll for a diverse workforce of casual and salaried staff
- Prepare monthly BAS through Xero
- Maintain and update cash flow projections, providing critical insights for business planning
- Oversee inventory control and job tracking using the Stage Force system
- Create and present comprehensive monthly and quarterly financial reports to management
- Collaborate with management on budget creation and performance tracking
- Ensure timely collection of payments and maintain accurate records in Stage Force
- Proactively identify and communicate potential financial issues or opportunities
- Assist in streamlining financial processes and improving overall efficiency
Requirements
- Proven expertise in Xero accounting software and proficiency in financial management systems
- Strong background in payroll processing, particularly for businesses with casual workforce
- Excellent understanding of cash flow management and financial reporting principles
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative in financial matters
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new systems (e.g., Stage Force, Deputy)
- Experience in the property or retail industry is advantageous but not essential
- Ability to work effectively in a remote setting while maintaining strong collaboration with the team
