About the role

DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker is seeking a talented Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) for our Alexandria office to support the Corporate Security Department in all aspects of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) concerning industrial security administrative functions and operations. Primary tasks include processing personnel security clearances, fingerprints, and visit authorization requests. Implementation and compliance with  NISPOM requirements in all aspects of performance while supporting department and site operations for their office location. 

Other duties include:

  • Appointed as the Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) for the Alexandria, VA location and provide security oversight for a possessing/safeguarding facility as a Multiple Facility Organization (MFO). 
  • Comply with internal security policies and procedures implemented by the Corporate Security Manager/FSO. 
  • Perform as “Acting” FSO in the absence of the FSO.
  • As AFSO complies with the NISP,  NISPOM Rule 32 CFR Part 117,  Dept of Homeland Security (DHS), Dept of Energy (DOE) and other related security requirements, policies, procedures, and regulations impacting personnel security clearances, classified information and government contract administration functions. 
  • Perform and facilitate administrative security support functions in multiple government security platforms.
  • Ensures all classified materials safeguarded by the Alexandria, VA site are compliant with the DOD, NISPOM and DCSA regulations and directives which govern receiving, inventory, safeguarding, marking, transporting, and destruction of classified information.
  • Distributes and tracks completion of initial and refresher employee security briefings.
  • Assist site employees with compliance with Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) as directed by the Chief Information Security Officer and CUI Manager. 
  • Maintains a visitor control program that clearly protects sensitive areas and elements of intellectual property and classified information from unauthorized disclosure.
  • Assist Corporate Security Manager with various physical security badging and security credentialing to support project work; Visit Authorization Requests, Common Access Cards (CAC) etc.
  • Performs safeguarding inventory and tasks related to operation of high-security locks and GSA-approved containers securing classified information.
  • In conjunction with the Corporate Security Manager and FSO, participates in internal and external security reviews and performs self-assessment inspections to ensure compliance with government and company regulations. 
  • Performs tasks in support of physical security, Operations Security (OPSEC), security awareness, and other security programs designed to protect company employees, U.S. Government information, and corporate property as requested by the Corporate Security Manager.

 

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate’s degree in criminal justice, business administration, or homeland security preferred; or 4+ years of experience in lieu of a degree. 
  • 3-5  years of experience in industrial security is required.
  • Security training as assigned by the Corporate Security Manager and CSA to include DCSA FSO Possessing Curriculum, to be completed within 6 months of hire date.
  • Ability to perform as a self-starter and independent worker; establish work priorities, maintain communications and feedback with the Corporate Security Manager on routine basis.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance required. If current Clearance is Secret, must have the ability to obtain a Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance.

 

COMPENSATION
The approximate compensation range for this position is $74,141 to $107,060.  This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.  Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
