For GS-13 level: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience to at least the next lower grade level or its non-Federal equivalent that demonstrates: In addition to the Basic Requirements (outlined below) - Extensive experience reviewing construction project preliminary plans, drawings, designs, specifications and cost estimates. Advising/consulting with private groups, public bodies and other agencies on civil or environmental engineering and architectural aspects of projects. Extensive experience providing advisory and technical services in engineering, planning and design process for projects that may include single or multi-family housing, wastewater facilities, businesses, and community facilities. There is no substitution of education for experience at the GS-13 level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
