Job summary
The role will be required to provide efficient and effective administrative/typist duties for the private patient service, primarily in the outpatient setting. The team member will also provide flexible administrative support as required by the Administration Manager to support service requirements.
The post requires flexibility and the ability to provide a wide range of administrative and typist duties as the services develop.
Main duties, tasks & skills required
Deal with day-to-day correspondence, phone calls, initiating appropriate responses to provide patients, staff and other parties with required information in a friendly and professional manner.
Receive telephone calls, accepting messages,taking appropriate action where necessary. Maintaining busy diaries for the consulting rooms ensuring safe use of rooms.
Liaise with appropriate personnel in the team to gather and co-ordinate patient information so this is accessible in a timely manner.
Type all forms of correspondence as dictated by workload. Produce copies for appropriate agencies, filing copies in correct sequence, ensuring follow-up arrangements are in place, listing outstanding investigations on the hospital database system.
Process urgent referrals and arrange appropriate outpatient appointments.
Participate in team and Trust meetings as requested.

Knowledge of patient notes / retrieval and related tasks/medical records procedure
