The following position is to join our RTX Corporate Public Relations Team:
RTX is looking for a Manager, Commercial Public Relations to join our Corporate Public Relations team. In this role you will be responsible for supporting public relations activities within the Pratt & Whitney commercial portfolio, including but not limited to the Commercial Engines, Aftermarket and Pratt & Whitney Canada businesses. You will be engaging with and pitching relevant members of the media, developing new relationships with reporters, identifying new story ideas and drafting briefing documents and press releases. You will be responsible for securing strategic and thoughtful earned media, ensuring that critical business and campaign messages are properly communicated with the right outlets.
What You Will Do:
Support Pratt & Whitney commercial PR campaigns, including but not limited to commercial engines, next-gen technologies and Pratt & Whitney Canada (general aviation, business aviation, regional aviation, helicopters)
Manage local media inbounds and interviews in the Hartford, CT area (Pratt & Whitney’s headquarters)
Maintain and develop relationships with relevant members of the local and aviation trade media.
Continuously monitor the news cycle and report significant media risks and opportunities to the PR team and relevant leaders
Connect the dots across RTX business units and campaigns to tell a larger, holistic RTX story as part of a strategic PR plan
Draft press releases, briefing documents, media coverage reports for relevant businesses and campaigns.
Own the validation process for press releases across the Pratt & Whitney commercial engine portfolio
Project management/collaboration ensuring all projects are delivered on-time, within scope
Take a data-driven approach and collaborate with our analytics team to develop meaningful metrics. Leverage analytics to improve ROI on recommended channel efforts.

Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position
Extensive experience in commercial aviation and communications, with exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and adapt to changing directions under tight deadlines.
Strong executive presence, demonstrated success in cross-functional teams, and effective engagement with employees, leadership, and external organizations.
Expertise in communications and marketing analysis, including data-driven strategies, with a solid understanding of Associated Press writing style.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in Communications or Public Relations
Experience working in a deadline-driven environment
Self-starter with a natural curiosity to investigate details and drive deliverables to completion
Adept at building relationships in a remote environment
French language abilities are a plus
