Montgomery County employees who was affected by reduction-in-force and currently have RIF priority rights;
Active Montgomery County local fire and rescue department volunteers with at least 50 points under the length of service award program (LOSAP); or

Please note: The salary range above represents the earning potential for this position. The anticipated hiring range for this position will be $55,517 to $73,980, based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

The Division of Highway Services (DHS) manages the maintenance of all transportation infrastructure within the County right-of-way, including more than 5,200 lane miles of rural, residential, and primary roadways, as well as nearly 1,000 miles of concrete curb, gutter, and sidewalk. The Tree Maintenance Section manages an inventory of over 250,000 street trees and more than 200,000 trees in the rural areas.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is seeking a Depot Supply Coordinator for the Division of Highway Services(DHS). This employee will be responsible for researching, ordering, receiving, stocking, and issuing parts, materials, and supplies for Highway Maintenance activities.

Examples of duties

As a Depot Supply Coordinator, this person will perform the following duties:

Maintaining contracts with vendors regarding orders and deliveries of stock and non-stock items purchased.
Assisting the supervisors in researching specifications and availability of materials and equipment.
Locating and expediting the acquisition of all special orders and out-of-stock items.
Tracking of invoices, contributing to monthly journal entries, and year-end financial procedures and reconciliation.
Inputting, monitoring, evaluating, and generating reports from an automated inventory control system.
Generating and maintaining warranty programs with outside vendors.
Preparing and overseeing the annual and periodic physical inventories.
Resolving inventory discrepancies.
Resolving questions/problems referred to them by employees.
The employee will also perform various clerical and shop operational functions, such as coordinating timesheet preparation, handling confidential information, answering phones, and operating a 2-way radio to maintain communication with the field staff.
