About the role

Barnes has an exciting and challenging career opportunity for a Production Planner in its Force and Motion Control SBU, Maumee, OH.  If you are a talented, self-driven and high- energy individual to serve as Production Planner for ASRaymond, this position is for you. This will be a challenging and rewarding opportunity for the right candidate who will contribute as a member of the supply chain and operations team.

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Manage work order creation, processing, and filing to ensure customer on time delivery is met.
  • Identify, plan and resolve inconsistencies and gaps between demand and supply, communicating potential problems across departments and management, ensuring high customer on time delivery.
  • Analyze load of future work against anticipated and planned events with goal of “level-loading” manufacturing operations.
  • Develop production schedules and monitor the MPS/MRP system for due dates for both production and materials.
  • Manage item setup and routes to support operations, including lead times and order policies
  • Monitor excess inventory, create action plans and execute to reduce.
  • Send open purchase order report to suppliers to confirm delivery schedules and manage PO due dates in the ERP system.
  • Manage and resolve discrepancies with supplier invoices to ensure payments are completed on time
  • Resolve shipment issues with suppliers, receiving issues, packaging standards, etc.
  • Approve supplier shipments and reviewing for expedited deliveries as needed.
  • Knowledgeable of company procedures and ensures compliance.
  • Performs all other assignments as requested by management.
  • Acts in accordance to Barnes Group Code of Conduct

 

Qualifications:

  • Confident self-starter who demonstrates passion and ownership
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset.
  • Understanding of materials management theory and practices
  • Experience with Microsoft Office package including Outlook and Word
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel – Vlookup, Pivot Tables, etc
  • Ability to adapt to continually changing environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
 

Education Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in relevant discipline AND minimum 3 years’ relevant experience, required
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Operations, or equivalent, preferred
