Summary :
Under the supervision of the LPN, RN, or nurse leader, the Patient Care Tech (PCT) performs patient-centered, evidence-based nursing care activities to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of the patient. Through collaborative practice with all members of the care team, is responsible for patient outcomes that meet the high quality of care provided by ThedaCare. Contributes to the goals of the department by being accountable for the delivery of compassionate, safe care and demonstrated commitment to continuous growth and professional development.Job Description:
SCHEDULE:(2) 12-hour DAY shift (7a-7p) **Days of the week worked will be Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday** Must be available to work either of these days
No weekends

ThedaCare Orthopedic, Spine and Pain Hospital is located in Appleton, WI. It is the region’s only comprehensive health center specializing in orthopedics, spine and pain care, with both inpatient and outpatient services. It is a true integration of service with highly specialized providers who are experts in their fields.
UNIT DETAILS (Surgical Services):
We are looking for a Patient Care Technician (PCT) committed to delivering exceptional patient experiences while utilizing your skills and knowledge to the highest scope. Our dynamic, fast-paced post op unit specializes in caring for orthopedic and spine patients. Together, we strive to create a team environment where you can collaborate, learn and perform your best every day.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Performs delegated patient care activities using evidence-based practice and specific competencies for the patient population served.
Checks patients’ vital signs, height, and weight, as needed, based on patient type.
Provides compassionate care and listens to patients’ concerns and guides them by answering any questions or concerns.
Identifies and escalates changes in patient status or patient risks to prevent crisis.
Collects clinical data and information on patients and reports to care team.
Repositions, transfers, ambulates and transports patients.
Assists patients with basic needs (such as hygiene, eating, using the restroom, and dressing).
Obtains and reports patient intake and output.
Performs electrocardiograms (ECGs) as directed.
Performs phlebotomy and specimen collection.
Provides care that is age appropriate, culturally specific, and developmentally appropriate in an environment that promotes patient safety.
Demonstrates professional and therapeutic relationships with patients, families, team members, and providers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or GED preferred• Must be 18 years of age required expect for Peabody Manor, The Heritage or Juliette Manor
Previous healthcare experience preferred
