We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Bloodworks Laboratory Logistics and Inventory Specialist I. In this role, you will function as a member of the Cord Blood Program and Cell Therapy Laboratory (CTP) team by performing logistical tasks supporting the collection, receipt, processing, storage, and distribution of Hematopoietic cells (HPC) Cord Blood and Stem Cell products. This position supports product inventory, including planning and administering product storage protocols, transferring frozen products, and distributing product samples for testing and transplant purposes. It also supports the maintenance of appropriate stock levels of reagents and materials for laboratory activities.

Principal responsibilities include, but are not limited to: As a Laboratory Technical Specialist I:

Support the CTP department's Materials Management Program:
• Perform and review material inventory checks
• Process orders for materials in the ReQlogic system to maintain adequate stock levels
• Prepare Material Specification Sheets for all materials
• Receive, inspect, and approve incoming materials
• Release materials for use following quality review
• Purge and destroy outdated materials
• Review and file CTP materials management documents, including product information, Certificates of Analysis, orders, and inventory records.
• Create, modify, maintain, and transmit electronic records in a controlled and approved manner.

Support in FDA-compliant hematopoietic cell (HPC) product handling:
• Support storage, physical transfer, and retrieval of frozen product and test sample inventory
• Perform maintenance and operation of temperature monitors
• Process CBUs for Discards
• Prepare CBU collection kits for hospital distribution
• Distribute collection kits to local hospitals (may include driving and delivering)
• Perform product changeover procedures for the product manufacturing and shipping areas

Support the distribution of manufactured HPC products (CBUs, segments, test samples) and CBUs for research use:
• Respond to testing and distribution requests from NMDP and transplant center staff
• Coordinate distribution of products and samples
• Prepare and review documentation associated with product distribution (shipping manifests)
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate shipping containers and temperature monitoring devices
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate floor scales
• Retrieve product from storage freezers
• Review final product labeling for distribution
• Package products and review product packaging for shipment
• Receive and file CBU quality test results from internal and external testing facilities
• Collate and file completed records (charts, materials logs, equipment logs, testing logs, and related records)
• Perform CBU data entry
• Perform onsite and offsite storage and retrieval of CBU charts and equipment/test records. Review of limited or specified sections of the CBU processing charts
• Support Department management and Laboratory and Collections staff in the investigation of any problems regarding samples and/or units being distributed from the Cord Blood Services department
• Comply with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as written
• Perform other duties as assigned
