Starting Pay Rate $15.15

Summary:

This position is responsible for assisting guests with memberships sales and guest service issues.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Offer best guest service to both members and non-members

• Able to answer questions and handle complaints and problems

• Able to give Zoo and Metroplex directions

• Reconcile refunds with cash control

• Make paging announcements

• Issue non-admission related refunds

• Explain current promotions and programs

• Assist lost children and parents of lost children

• Maintain cleanliness of the Guest Relations office, Information Booth and surrounding Zoo areas

• Adhere to Zoo uniform guidelines

• Hand out first aid materials

• Open and/or close the office daily

• Enter all membership information and process all members in a friendly, accurate and efficient manner including data entry (via person, mail, phone or internet) and photo processing

• Greeting in the front plaza and throughout the zoo dispensing membership information and sales

• Maintain Zoo's lost and found including tagging, logging, and storage of items

• Assemble membership packets and renewals to be mailed or picked up


Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older

•Available to work Wednesdays and Weekends

• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Exceptional phone skills

• Possess skills to operate basic office equipment


Education and/or Experience:

• Customer Relations background

• Demonstrated problem solving abilities


Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or or move up to 50 pounds.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

• Ability to work special events and functions as required

• Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold and inclement weather
