Location: Park Manor North, Ground Floor

Position Title: Student Intern

Reports to: Manager, First-Generation Student Success

Pay Rate:

$15/hour for newly hired Undergraduate Students

$17/hour for returning Undergraduate Students

Hours: Part Time; 8 hours/week

Start Date: August 18, 2025 (pre-matriculation)

Term Details:

• Current/former undergraduate interns selected to return must make at least a semester commitment
• New undergraduate interns must make a full academic year commitment

Additional Details:

• Number of/schedule of hours may change with the needs of the office, including programming and period of breaks.
• The Office is typically open M-F 8:30am-4:30pm, with nights and weekends as needed; working hours will be in-office. Possible remote or alternative locations depending on Office needs and abilities.
• All interns will need to be available in-person on Fridays from 10am-11am for weekly staff meetings.
• International students who have not previously worked in the United States will need to apply for and receive social security number before they may begin employment.

Students may visit the Glavin Office of International Education for more details but should expect the process to take 2 months.

• To accommodate Study Abroad, all students will need to reapply for consideration for the following academic year. Spring vacancies will be filled from the existing candidate pool if possible.

About First-Generation Student Success:

First-Generation Student Success is a new initiative at Babson College, building upon existing

programming and resources across campus offices and groups. First-Generation Student Success falls within Babson College Student Success which takes an integrative, synergetic, student-

centered approach to developing entrepreneurial leaders. We provide a seamless and supportive living-learning environment that prioritizes self-advocacy, health, and well-being as central to academic, personal, and professional success. First-Generation Student Success leverages this approach with a focus on students whose parents have not completed a 4-year college degree within the United States.

As a population, first-generation students at Babson have grown from 9% to 21% of

undergraduate enrollment since 2019. First-Generation Student Success will coordinate efforts across the College and develop a comprehensive strategy to support all first-generation students.

The staff and interns will work as a team to provide resources, community building, and programming/learning opportunities. A major initiative will be in developing a wholistic

mentoring program that brings together undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff in mentoring first-generation undergraduate students from matriculation to graduation. In addition, the team will support academic and career advising, financial aid, community building, and
